ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

The new AMF-Bruns Smartseats comply with the new UN/ECE regulation.

All Smartseat types of AMF-Bruns have been approved to comply with the new UN/ECE regulation. This UN/ECE regulation R14.07 came into force as part of EU framework directive 2007/46/EC on 1st November 2014. AMF-Bruns supplies Smartseat M1 seats which meet the new M1 demands. When buying a Smartseat from AMF-Bruns, you can rest assured that our seats meet all the new requirements and that your vehicle will safely pass UN/ECE regulated testing. AMF-Bruns Smartseats are M1 approved for all popular vehicle models.

The Smartseat is available in four different versions: Standard seat, seat with reclining backrest, flip-up cushion seat, tip & fold seat.

All M1 seats are equipped with an adjustable headrest and as required, armrests can be installed at each side of the Smartseat. ISOfix is optionally available.

All Smartseats meet the new demands

There are three important new requirements in the new framework, and AMF-Bruns Smartseats comply with all of them:

(1) Larger clear area zones (UN/ECE R14.07 point 7.1.1)

The back rest must not move more than 10 degrees forward from the H-point in the event of an accident. Clear area zones are important in vehicle design in order to protect the occupant of the seat from hitting objects in the vehicle, such as the seat in front, storage cupboards, luggage racks, etc. The new legislation defines a fixed beyond which the back rest must not deform. This is tested by measuring the length of forward travel of the upper anchorage point during a pull test, in relation to the seat’s H-point. The test must be officially verified and an accredited test institute must provide full documentation that the seats comply with the “clear area zone”. The AMF-Bruns Smartseats have been in vehicle tested by the RDW and approved according to ECE R14.07.

(2) In vehicle tested seats (UN/ECE R14.07 point 6.1.1.1)

The R14 tests may be carried out either on a vehicle structure or on a completely finished vehicle. We at AMF-Bruns have tested our seats in all positions in different vehicles.

(3) Increased security for the anchorage of child seats in a vehicle (UN/ECE R14.07, point 5.3.8.1)

Any vehicle of category M1 shall be equipped at least with two ISOfix positions including top tether points for the installation of child seats in order to secure the child seat to the upper section of the vehicle seat. ISOfix brackets must be provided as standard and must be suitable for all approved child seats. The test must be verified and an accredited test institute must provide full documentation to guarantee that the seats comply with the ISOfix legislation. The AMF-Bruns Smartseats were tested by the RDW and approved according to ECE R14.07. Special vehicles such as ambulances, police and commercial N Class vehicles are exempt from the ISOfix rule.
